Quotes
· Arno Clemens Gaebelein: “He (John) knew Him from the beginning of His ministry and had followed Him with much love and faithfulness, and seems to have been the most beloved of the Lord. He never mentions himself in the Gospel by name, but nevertheless speaks of himself, as the disciple whom Jesus loved.”
· Biblegateway.com: “John's statement of purpose is directly linked with Jesus' blessing upon those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
· Bible.org: John wants you to believe specifically that Jesus is the Christ—the Jewish Messiah (Anointed One)—who was prophesied of in the Old Testament.

Why I like the book of John
The book contains one of the most important verses to understand what the bible is about, John 3:16- “For God so loved the world the He gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This is the answer, this is the key to salvation. We are destined to go to hell because of our sin but God has made a way for us to be with him in heaven and all we have to do is believe in His Son.
We really like how the book opens by explaining that Jesus and God are together and the same and how only through Him has anything been created. This means a lot to us because it reassures that we worship an all-powerful being who loves us. It is also helpful because it elaborates on how Jesus is the light of the world and that darkness will never overtake Him or those who are in Him. Our final point that we like is that John clearly states how Jesus is as well the Son of God, which allows people to believe in who He is, and have eternal life by believing in His name.

RESEARCH BY JONATHON TAYLOR:
About the author: The apostle John was one of the original disciples that Jesus called to follow him. He was a fisherman from Galilee and he had a brother named James. Jesus called the two brothers of thunder. John’s history after the time of Jesus is somewhat of a mystery but he did have leadership in the early church. He was also the only disciple not to die a violent death. Before his death he wrote the book of Revelation which is what will happen in the end times.
